How to play Common Ground

The Describer
Teams take turns. One of you is the Describer and sees a secret target on a scale, like Cold to Hot.

Type a clue
The Describer types a short clue for something right at the target. Keep it to 40 characters, with no numbers or words from the scale.

Move the dial
Talk it over while a teammate moves the dial to where the clue fits and taps Lock in. The Describer can't say a word!

Are they left or right?
The other teams guess if the dial is left or right of the target. Each team goes with its majority, and a tied team gets no guess.

See how close you got
The closer the dial is to the target, the more your team scores: +3, +2 or +1. Every other team that guessed the correct side gets +1.

First to 10 wins!
Take turns being the Describer and dial holder, so everyone gets a go. If teams tie at the top, keep playing until one leads.
